When Pelosi doesn’t invite Trump to say the State of the Union address?
The president will give it in the Senate, in such an event.
Not sure of the invitation protocol, but under the Constitution, the prez only has to report on the State of the Union.
He can write it or video record it, he doesn’t have to give a speech. Written as been done before.She isn’t Senate majority leader. She’ll have a good view of the speech, though.
She has already issued the formal invitation.
She has already extended the invitation.
Such a breach of custom would backfire totally.
Federal workers, contractors and those business that rely on them are losing right now. eventually government programs such as food stamps and rent subsidy, will run out of money and then it will effect a greater number of people mostly democrats.
As to the state of the union, you must realize that the democrats want to impeach him and some have called him names so I expect they will act in a disrespectful manner. But because the state of the union is televised it will be toned down.
Trump will win. He can give the speech anywhere (in fact, it is only a 20th century custom for it to be a speech). He can choose an audience that will be very supportive, rather than a Congress mos tof whose members hate him with a passion. Pelosi will win points with her base for “dissing” the President, but to most people it will seem that she is now the one shredding law and custom.
Trump has already lost . Pelosi did not do this for the fox news readers. She did it for the rest of America .
She just wanted to remind everyone that the Government being shutdown is not a normal situation and that Trump not trying to resolve it by passing bills to re-open the Government is a disaster.
She generated talk about the shutdown affecting people and Trump\Republicans are acting as if they couldn’t care less.
If Pelosi wants to dis-invite President Trump he should make the State of the Union speech on the steps of the capital just to show there is no security threat. Security will probably be very tight and I am sure that it will be well attended. Of course there will be an absence of democrats. It will basically be a kickoff for the 2020 presidential campaign speech, how the democrats are ruining the country in their first thirty days.

Trump and the Republicans were just trounced in the recent election. (Besides losing the popular vote 2 years ago.)
America elected the Democrats in congress to act logically and ethically against Trumo.
Pelosi as the Speaker of the House is doing exactly that. She has the support of most Americans who love what she is doing.
Stop listening to fox news and Hannity and Levin. Everything that comes out of their mouths makes a person dumber. Trump can say 2 weeks before the shutdown on national TV that he is taking responsibility and you still don’t blame him.
And I will repeat , I do not understand how the YW mods let 1 continue with his Onoas Devorim.
AbbaS are you claiming that the Jews living in Palmtree and Willy are Dems? Both those areas have the highest number of public benefit recipients in the country?
