Very often when I am walking on the street or am in shul or at some event, total strangers walk over to me and either ask me am I Yankel Finkelstein or Shloima Cohen or whoever and sometimes people just start talking to me about something I have no idea about, he having assumed I was some acquantance of his.
I’m sure this happens to everyone on infrequent occasion. But I experiance this phenominon quite frequently. It is true I have a very “common” Jewish face, but could that really explain it all?
i get that too….all the time, i should really play along one time…
maybe it’s like your double… doesn’t everyone have like a double in this world or something like that? or am i just making that up?
You probably have a typical look.
My husband has a typical look and in the beginning, I thought every person from far looked like him!

I have the kind of job where more people know who I am than I actually know who they are. I’ve gotten used to just politely smiling and pretending I know them too.

Writng directly to a poster of the opposite gender, joking for no practical purpose, discussing physical appearance, and adding “lol” for good measure. ???? ????? ??? ??????? ?? ???? ?????.

Your other post was edited because, although it’s fine for you to express your opinion about general behavior in the CR, it’s not fine for you to single out and criticize specific other posters as not conforming to your opinion.
I am told I look like someone in Toronto. When I saw the photo (he’s a public figure), it was uncanny. Not an exact copy, but I could see how the match could be made.
(So far, we have not met face to face)
