Worse,when YOU call to follow up,and politely apologize for calling (since they were supposed to call),they say,”I’m the type of person,ya gotta keep trying me,eventually you’ll get me”…
I don’t chase them.They won’t be reliable any further than that either.

I politely object. New Yorkes DO have nice and polite manners. (Living proof!) It’s just that the impolite stick out – and that there are more impolite in N.Y. than polite in OOT.
Eclipse: are you upset ’cause I said it and didn’t get back to you? I am really sorry for not informing you of what I was doing while I was doing it, but I was working on things the whole day but so far all I’ve got is either: “well yeah that is the mentality (about single moms and they didn’t give me any info or suggestions)” or “look in the papers/online/etc”

I take personal offense at this thread. I am a born and bred NYer and don’t enjoy being put down.!!
i have very nice manners…when i’m not in NY! lol
I believe NY’ers are very fast paced and are extreme multi-taskers. I don’t think they mean to be rude and not get back to you I believe their lists are so long they can’t keep track of what they promised whom and they are just truly running behind and can never catch up. When they say “I’ll get back to you” they really mean “I’ll add you to my list and get to you when I get to you”. They truly intend to get to you somewhere down the list. If they really don’t want to be bothered NY’ers are straight forward enough to say “Sorry I don’t have time or really I can’t be bothered with that!”

Yes, it’s what I’m refering to. In any case, why be picky. Everyone has beauty in some fashion / aspect. The famous story in Gemorah where a Tanna found beauty to a woman having a fitting name.

when i say no no no and they still argue and i am doing something more interesting than talking on the phone then i just end the convo
