When I tried to log in just now I was asked to solve an arithmetic problem and told “prove your humanity”. This is extremely offensive and degrading. What do the mods fear? A golem? There are already human trolls here so why not?

They don’t want computer robots answering questions but humans. It says clearly I not a robot.

I doubt it’s the moderators. It is normally the web designers hosting the website. It is a way to ward off denial of service attacks.

The new system uses artificial intelligence to determine the intelligence level of the user attempting to login. If it suspects a lower level, it is programmed to further probe to alleged humanity of the person or device attempting to login.

    Welcome to the 21st century.

What do the mods have to do with it?

Shouldn’t we asking what happens if the computer can solve the puzzle? Would that means it can convert?

An irony here is that it’s a machine that’s administering the “prove your humanity” test.

Laskern, that does not mean that there has to be an insulting message.

Akuperma, the Chacham Tzvi says that a golem cannot be counted in a minyan so presumably a computer cannot convert.

I do websites and stuff. Things without the code can get hundreds of spam messages a day, it’s frustrating to sift through.

I did not know that to be a member of CR you need to have a kedusha which a golem does not have to be counted as part of a minyan.
