Is a wife expected to polish her husband’s shoes?

I tried asking this question on anotherthread and no one answered, but it seems to me that this place is full of talmidei chachomim, so i want to know if anyone knows.

“Every evening my grandmother would take off my grandfather’s shoes.”

Why was she wearing her husbands shoes?

she is supposed to wait on him “hand & foot.” Polishing shoes is included in “foot”

Secret Service doesn’t let her get near him.

I think this is a big chiddush. I can hear polishing his feet, but his shoes too?

Sounds like you married your wife in order to acquire a valet and cleaning lady mb

What’s normal in one marriage can be unusual in another. Did the wife’s mother polish her father’s shoes? Did the mil polish fil’s shoes?

Does wife enjoy polishing shoes? Does husband not care about polished shoes and wife really does?

Does husband come home 1/2 hour before shabbos and jump into the shower and doesn’t have time to polish shoes?

Does husband feel a need to be pampered a little? Does he pamper his wife and expect this favor in return?

yes. and the husband is obligated to support her.

No polish required for suede, plastic, or canvas shoes! I hear that a choshuva personality – Elvis – was partial to blue suede. Otherwise, let him wear Crocs and sneaks!
