Will the Storm keep you from going to the Minyan tommorrow or Tuesday
I hope not!
Just remember not to be stupid about it! If there are trees coming down in your area, do not try to go to shul. It is pikuach nefesh!
Last year, when Irene was coming in (it came on a motzei Shabbos if I remember right), the Rav of my shul said that if many trees were coming down, the shul would not have a minyan, as he wanted people to stay indoors where it would be safer.
We had a nice minyon this morning. The plan for Mincha maariv is minyonom in houses for neighbors to minimize traveling.
Hey ZehavasDad I made i minyan this morning!! baruch hashem and Im telling u the same thing kept going through my mind as I was walking through the windy parking lot! “will the storm keep me from making a minyan?” It is so funny mayne ur post was sub-conciously the reason I made it! thank you 🙂 big thank you! one of my hardest misvot to keep is praying shacharit with a minyan!

Well im in a wheelchair and when we in maryland had the derecho hit us in the summer a HUGE tree fell down in our shul parking lot and it crushed 7 CARS! Luckily our shul learnt it’s lesson this time and sent out an email “NO PARKING IN THE SHUL PARKING LOT DURING THE STORM!” So being that the only way to get to shul would be by walking we are having minyan at my house!
but just for mincha because we don’t have a torah. We could in theory have minyanim tomorrow also…but hopefully it won’t have to come to that
maariv will IYH be in my next door neighbor’s apartment

Meanwhile:- “veNishmartem Me’oed l’Nafshoseichem” is a Chiyuv miDeoiraisso, where as attending a Minyan is at most miDeRabbonon.

Yes, Monday Oct 29 was the 2nd Monday of BeHaB according to the normal American yeshivish calendars. As most of us should know by now, 147 follows his own, made-up calendar.
