chocandpatience~ honesty? during registration: checking off a box that says “I hereby promise that I am 18 years of age or older, have read the rules/terms of use for the CR…” & submit birthdate??

obviously, it cannot be enforced, per se.

for the ‘imamother’ site, you havta be a Jewish female & married to join their site.. you are asked to fill out a questionnaire at registration so that they can ‘verify’ (?) that you are so. I would imagine it’s not foolproof, but…

It’s not foolproof at all. Any married man who knows hilchos taharas hamishpacha could answer those questions, and anyone else could use google to figure it out.

“It isn’t Hannah Banana, it’s Hannah Montana”

I know that. I just wanted to flush out the “real” 9 year olds (age or those of heart)

    Cocoa room – Very funny!

Since IAM’s site was mentioned by name, from what my Mrs tells me, the things discussed on that site really should have a serious password protection, not just a questionare.

The topics are serious, but some are very not suitable for kids.

The CR by comparison is “grandma” certified

I’ve been reading the CR posts for going on 2 yrs., but I didn’t join until 6 months ago. … I think one can basically discern who’s under 21-22 y.o., or so, to some extent, no?

gefen: No. I’m not mad. As I wrote elsewhere, I’m thick, it takes more to get into me. (Actually I say sometimes on Erev Yom Kippur by the ????? ???, that I’m mochel people EVEN if they have in mind to do it again. I feel I stand better chance that HaShem will reciprocate in kind, kindly.)

And no, I’m not posting there, I’m here. (can’t you see?)

so… how old is too OLD to be postimg in the CR. i mean theres gotta be better stuff for an 100 year old to do no?!?!?!

Didn’t you see my previous post? I’m only 9.

But even if I were an adult, I don’t think it would make any difference. There are some things which I feel should not be discussed even in a female-only forum. People there discuss intimate details of their married lives with no qualms just because it’s anonymous. I do understand that some people have a need to get help, but there are professionals for that. Asking advice in these matters from anonymous posters in a forum is not appropriate. I was uncomfortable reading about these issues and felt that it was wrong for it to be as public as it was, so I left. I do miss some aspects of it, but I feel like I’m better off not going there.

well, 123bubby [even tho’ I know you aren’t old enough to be one]~ I think ‘smart cookie’ sort of figured out my age & seemed pretty shocked that I’m her mother’s age… & was surprised that us ‘golden oldies’ even know how to use a computer & get on the internet!! ;-P

gefen~ “yeah i thought you were younger too. you look good for your age 🙂 anyway – i wonder how old ppl here think i am.”

thanks! I had a friend over this Shabbos from Israel; our same age sons had been in the same grade in Yeshiva here. I thought we’re contemporaries but it turns out that she’s 14 yrs younger than me!! :-O

    when you showed up here on the CR during the Chicago blizzard, you made mention of your teen daughter/her friends being on here, too;

so I figure you havta be at least 35. but you don’t look a day over 25! 😉

    Gefen:

So you wonder how old people think you are. Well, does that exclude me? I would have give my guesstimate but you’re looking for older people’s say. Actually you wrote that you’re one year older than me. (In my class they invented the capital ‘i’)

    shlishi – yup – low 40’s with a few years experience 😉

always – well one of my teen daughters just turned 20.

zeeskite – to a 9 yr old like you – i would be from the dinosaur age :). i remember when i was in school, anyone over 18 was ancient!!! ok so i’ll admit i’m not 10 yrs old – i lied – please me mochel me in your tefilos on yom kippur.

123bubby – bli ayin hara- so i can’t give you the bracha of “ad meah v’esrim” since you surpassed that already. so let’s see – how about “ad masayim” 🙂
