Fatal Choking Incident Claims Infant’s Life in Elad


When Ichud Hatzalah EMTs arrived on the scene on Shemaya Street in Elad on Sunday night the 9th of Shevat 5773, they found a lifeless three-months-old girl in a carriage. They immediately began resuscitation efforts.

It appears the young child choked to death on a plastic bag left in the carriage. The child R”L died during the night in the hospital.

Ichud EMT Ze’ev Teffer explained the infant was found with the plastic bag by her mouth. “Together with other Ichud EMTs from Elad we began resuscitating her and then transported to the hospital.”

When police arrived they saw the plastic bad near the carriage. An investigation has been launched to determine if the parents will face charges of negligence in the infant’s death.

  1. BDE to the family. Please move the ad in the article. It is the last thing we need to see when reporting a childs tragic death.

  2. The plastic bags used for sandwiches and the like in Israel are very thin and dangerous-time to ban them. This is not the first choking tragedy due to plastic bags -oy rachmanus!!
