  1. BD”E. His book is one of the best first hand accounts of what it was like to be a soldier during WWII. His description of the Normandy invasion is riveting. It’s a must read for everyone.

  2. BDE. A very special man, special family. Used to get a ride with him to the Kosel for the Vasikim Minyan from Mattesdorf, twice a week, back in the late 80’s. He had his famous “station wagon” back then. Was Zoche to meet & have a shiachus with Reb Beinish Finkel ZT”L, Mirrer Rosh Yeshiva, thru him. Just like Reb Beinush, Reb Meyer was a Tzaddik nistar. A tremendous baal chesed of unbelievable proportions. Was a real genuine Torah askan. He will be sorely missed! May the wonderful family be comforted at this difficult time.

  3. OY! I read his book and could not put it down until I finished it. I still pick it up and open to any page and start reading. This man was a frum yid in WW-2 and had such stories of his life, including liberating the camps after WW-2,of rabonim galore from days of old. Such a true bal tzedakah and bal chesed. Surely he earned his way into olam haboh. Again you must read his book. BDE! Hamakom Yenachem!

  4. a True Tzaddik. Klal Yisroel will miss him dearly.

I was zoiche to get many many rides with him and eat many shabbos meals at his table.

  5. A special Person. Not only did he go to the Vasikin Minyan well into his 90’s (I saw him there February 2012, escorted daily by grandsons. He was not there this past January though) He was a real Baal Middos. I know he used to Daven for young ladies who were in need of Shidduchim. (Girls in towns he never went to, daughters of Yidden he never met, but Jewish Girls in need!) He was so happy when people told him to take girls off of his list! May he continue to be a maylitz Yosher those needing Shidduchim, and whoever else he Davened for, in the next world
    Yehi Zichro Boruch.

  6. R’ Meyer was my friend that I never met.I went through divorce after 17 years of marriage.I wrote the Lt. after someone said to read his book.He called me, talked to me,helped me and brought comfort to me as he did to so many thousands in Europe.I got married 2 years to the day that I had to leave my home to an almana with children, as the Lt. did as he describes in his book in chapter 14.My first name is also Meyer. The Lt. often called me to see how I was doing. He told me that he would daven at the Kosel for me and he asked other Tzadikim to daven for me at the Kosel.I often speak about him to my talmidim.I will miss him so much even though we never met in person.Yehay Zichro Baruch.
