Police on Tuesday 12 Sivan arrested a Haifa couple in their 40s for allegedly steaking hundreds of thousands of shekels in diamonds.

Police began probing the case a number of weeks ago amid allegations, the wife who is employed in the diamond polishing firm, was taking some home for her husband to sell in his jewelry store. Police searched the home of the couple, finding diamonds worth hundreds of thousands of shekels.

They will likely face charges of money laundering and tax evasion too as they used profits to buy property and vehicles. They were scheduled for arraignment on Wednesday.
