UNFOUNDED FEARS: Lakewood Protests Were Peaceful And Without Incident [VIDEOS & PHOTOS]

The Lakewood Police Department gave YWN the following statement:

The Lakewood Police Department would like to take this opportunity to recognize all who attended today’s peaceful protest to honor George Floyd Jr. Several hundred participants were joined by Township Officials, Mayor Raymond Coles, Police Chief Gregory Meyer and Ocean County Prosecutor Brad Billhimer as they marched down Clifton Avenue just after 1 pm.

Once arriving in the center of town, the large crowd, with many different backgrounds but bonded by a common cause, gathered together in Red Square where many had the opportunity to have their voices heard. The gathering lasted until just after 3pm when the crowd peacefully dispersed without incident.

The Lakewood Police Department would like to thank the Lakewood Township Committee, The Lakewood Board of Education, The Lakewood Chapter of The NAACP, our Federal, State, County and Local counterparts, the Lakewood Fire Department and EMS, our volunteer organizations, but most of all our residents, outside participants and the organizers of today successful and meaningful event.

  1. Thats not called ‘UNFOUNDED FEARS!! Many people worked very hard to keep to keep the peace, and BH everything worked out!! The fears were definitely soundly based!

  2. “Unfounded fears”?????

Have you seen what the “George Floyd” protesters around the country have done?

The lakewood police chief and the mayor should be voted out of office, for having bad judgement. Why in the world would the risk this town?

These protest are ALL FAKE and backed by politicians with a bad agenda. Blacks are killed EVERY DAY and no one cares.

  3. “UNFOUNDED FEARS”… Who says they were unfounded? Maybe nothing audacious happened because of the fear and precautions (and there were a lot) taken it remained peaceful.

  4. Ridiculous Headline. Whoever calls it an “UNFOUNDED” fear must’ve been on a different planet these days.

  5. Unfounded fears?

Just because Baruch Hashem nothing happen, doesn’t mean it was unfounded

  6. I’m simply disgusted when i see pictures of yidin on their knee “in solidarity” with the BLM lie and anti Semites.

Hey fool, how many of your grandparents, great grandparents, etc., were killed al Kiddush Hash-m? And you get on a knee? WE DON’T GET ON A KNEE!

  7. meh!
George Floyd was a criminal. He had a long history of crime. He served 5 years for robbery at gun point. At the time of his arrest, he was high on meth and trying to push off a counterfit bill.

To honor him is a joke on us all…..

  8. The headline is incorrect. The fears were founded. BH violence did not occur but there were enormous reasons for concern.

  9. It is ridiculous to say that the fears were “unfounded”. The fears may not have been realized, the bad stuff happening in cities all over the country may not BH have happened, but it is simply incorrect to say that the fears were “unfounded” because the risk was REAL.
