Israeli Woman Diagnosed With Bell’s Palsy After Taking Covid-19 Vaccination

After reportedly occurring a few times in the United States, an elderly woman in Israel was diagnosed with Bell’s Palsy after taking the Covid-19 vaccine.

The woman, Iza Dubinovsky, a 72-year-old resident of Karmiel, started seeing symptoms several days after receiving the treatment. At first, she simply did not feel one side of her face. Following the strange sensation, Dubinovsky went to the hospital where underwent CT scans and head scans that all came out normal. Following this, she was told that the occurrence was indeed a side effect of the vaccine and that after using some medications the condition should pass.

In an interview with Channel 12 news Dubinovsky said, “I was terribly distressed. I had a hard time drinking and eating. I was afraid it would stay that way.”

Dr. Samih Badarna, the Director of the neurology department at the Galilee Medical Center said, “This is a relatively common phenomenon called peripheral facial nerve palsy (Bell’s Palsy). The reasons for this phenomenon are not clear. Some people claim that it is a viral disease, while others believe that it is a sign of autoimmune sickness… Any autoimmune disease based on the body’s immune system can manifest or break out following the receiving of a vaccine.”

According to various studies most of the time, (85 percent of cases) the paralysis disappears within a period of up to six weeks. However, there are some cases where the disease partially lingers and various symptoms remain, or even rare but extreme cases where the sickness entirely remains.

  1. The last paragraph about how long Bell’s Palsy last as a result of the vaccine so far appears to be irrelevant as relates to the variant caused by the vaccine as in all cases it disappears quite quickly.

  2. To the YWN editors: You should seriously consider the wisdom of publishing stories about single incidents of adverse reactions to Covid (and other) vaccines. Responsible medical professionals and government regulators keep track of these things and are always re-evaluating vaccine (and other pharmaceutical) safety. Adverse reactions to vaccines are always a part of the picture. One incident tells us nothing, but some readers, e.g., bahby, above, jump to unwarranted conclusions.

  3. JO, at least 2 people have already died from the vaccine, as reported. What does the number of people who have died from Covid-19 have to do with the price of tea in China? You seem to be implying that the vaccine will actually save lives. That still remains to be seen. At this point you cannot prove that even one life has been saved by the vaccine.

  4. Jerusalem observer: We speak to logic with logic, to these people there is no language.
It’s like R’Chaim Soloweitchik said, if someone says 3+3=7 i can prove him wrong, but if he says 3+3= a cow, I have nothing to say.

  5. Huju – Did you know that govenment regulators pick up between 1 and 10% of adverse vaccine reactions BY THEIR OWN ADMISSION

  6. Israel has 1,000 cases of Bell Palsy a year! With 1.5 million vaccines administered, you can literally report that anything happened.

  7. We should trust our responsible government with blind faith because it is a medina shel chesed and everything they say is true. It’s a democracy, and democracy is good.
Also, science is foolproof because the scientists do everything leshem shamayim and they have siyata dshmaya.
Anyone who says otherwise should be banned. And no shidduch for them . Etc.
