SCARE: Manhattan Schools Go On Lockdown After BB Gun Seen; School Was Previously Targeted With Threats [UPDATED]

A Manhattan high school and neighboring college have been placed on lockdown, after reports that a guns was found in a backpack.

The NYPD responded to the Philip Randolph Campus High School at 443 West 135th street, and placed the school on lockdown.

Students were told to shelter in place, while the City College of New York, which is located next to the high school, sent an alert to staff and students advising them to stay indoors.

Authorities said a female student reported that she observed a male student with a firearm. Police say the ensuing investigation revealed that a male student was in possession of what appeared to be a BB gun that he had shown to a friend.

The student was being interviewed by Detectives and was not charged as of this posting.

In April, the Daily News reported that a staffer at the same school said a note found on a teacher’s desk said, “I am going to shoot the school up, you have been warned.”
