US Measles Count Up To 555, With Most New Cases In New York

U.S. measles cases have surged again, and are on pace to set a record for most illnesses in 25 years.

Health officials on Monday said 555 measles cases have been confirmed so far this year, up from 465 as of a week ago.

While 20 states have reported cases, New York has been the epicenter. Nearly two-thirds of all cases have been in New York, and 85% of the latest week’s cases came from the state. Most of the New York cases have been unvaccinated people in Orthodox Jewish communities.

The 2019 tally is already the most since 2014, when 667 were reported. The most before that was 963 cases in 1994.

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention recommends that all children get two doses of measles vaccine, which is 97% effective.

Other states reporting measles cases this year include Arizona, California, Colorado, Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Indiana, Kentucky, Maryland, Massachusetts, Michigan, Missouri, Nevada, New Hampshire, New Jersey, Oregon, Texas and Washington. After the CDC issued its report Monday morning, Iowa officials said they too had seen a case.

Also on Monday, the World Health Organization reported that globally there are four times as many measles cases so far this year as there were at the same time last year.

Over the last year, the largest numbers have been in Ukraine, Madagascar and India, with each reporting more than 60,000 cases.

  1. Its encouraging that the leadership of nearly ALL segments of the tzibur have joined in the effort to educate on the need for vaccination and the threat imposed by the anti-vaxers. YWN has responsibly reported on these efforts and called out the very few cases of non-cooperation.

  2. Gadolhadorah, how do anti-vaxxers threaten? Y’all love to say that they can transmit diseases to otheres, but 1) if you are vaccinated and vaccines really work, there should be no need to worry and 2) what about the myriad of other communicable diseases for which we don’t vaccinate? Heck, a cold virus can be a problem to an immunocompromised person, and can lead to pneumonia and death. Where is Hashem in all this? People die from many diseases. Just the fact that before the vaccine the deaths from measles was 500 out of 3 or 4 million (CDC statistic) and now it’s higher speakes volumes about the death threat reality. The only real need for vaccination is on the part of Big Pharma’s profits. It does NO social good in the US, Israel, and other modern countries. Do the real research as a number of rabbanim have done. Doctors themselves don’t really know because they are not taught anything but the vaccination schedule and that they save lives. The doctors who have stopped to do the research – real research – have pretty much ALL concluded otherwise. There are books written on this, and plenty of testimony from real live MDs.

Remember, please, when you start with believing “science” that not so long ago, doctors were promoting cigarettes as healthy and look where we are today? Fat was demonized and not we know it’s not fat that causes problems but rather sugars. Vaccines are not substantially different. Just that fact that billions of dollars have been paid out by the Vaccine “Court” says that vaccines are not safe. Just the fact that the pharmaceutical companies have had judgments against them in the billions of dollars for FRAUD should set bells a’ringing that they are not to be trusted.

So who is really responsible here? The ones who blindly follow fraudulent “science” or the ones who question that science?
