DISTURBING FOOTAGE: Newark Police Officer Indicting For Fatally Shooting Man During Wild Chase

A police officer in New Jersey’s largest city has been indicted following a wild chase in which he repeatedly got out of his patrol car and opened fire, leaving one man dead and another wounded.

A grand jury on Tuesday charged Newark Police Officer Jovanny Crespo with aggravated manslaughter, aggravated assault, official misconduct and possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose.

Body cam video captured the chaotic chase on Jan. 28 when another officer radioed she was pursuing a vehicle and she had seen a gun. Crespo jumped out of his car three times and fired at close range.

When the car stopped, the driver and passenger were both shot in the head. The driver died the next day.

Crespo is held pending a detention hearing.

The police union is supporting the officer.

  1. In the fury of the battle the police officer did exactly the right thing. When a criminal points a gun at someone, he has signed his own death sentence. If I was a lawyer, I would defend Officer Crespo all the way.

  2. When your partner is yelling at you to calm down, it is a sign to take a step back and reassess the plan.

  3. So according to you, Mr chareidi amiti, should the officer just let the criminal continue merrily on his way? Then I suppose you would be first in line to offer condolences to the families of the dead officers who had stood by like lame ducks, as well as whoever else got killed by those criminals. I would love to see the rose-coloured eye glasses thru which you view the world. Come on, get a life! Ha’bo lehorgecho, hashkaym vehorgo. The officer should be given an award for bravery for chasing and facing ARMED CRIMINALS

  4. So let me see if I got this straight. Two criminals with guns run from the police. They get shot. Somehow, that’s illegal. Where is the problem?
