Jeffrey Epstein Autopsy Complete, Medical Examiner Says

Autopsy complete on indicted child sex-trafficker Jeffrey Epstein, cause of death still pending, ME says

NEW YORK — The autopsy for Jeffrey Epstein has been completed—but his cause of death is still pending, the medical examiner says.

“The ME’s determination is pending further information at this time. At the request of those representing the decedent, and with the awareness of the federal prosecutor, I allowed a private pathologist (Dr. Michael Baden) to observe the autopsy examination. This is routine practice.”

Epstein was arrested again on July 6, 2019, on federal charges for sex trafficking of minors in Florida and New York. He died on Saturday, reportedly after hanging himself in his Manhattan prison cell.

Three weeks previously, Epstein had been found unconscious in his jail cell with injuries to his neck and was placed on suicide watch, which lasted six days, ending twelve days before he died.
