Israel’s security establishment has drawn up a list of red lines that Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu is expected to present during his meeting with President Trump, according to Israel’s Channel 12 News.
The most critical demand, described by Israeli officials as nonnegotiable, is the complete removal of enriched uranium from Iran.
Israel will also insist on preserving full freedom of action to eliminate threats across every arena, including Iran, Gaza, Syria and Lebanon. Security officials view this as a central element of Israel’s updated defense doctrine and say the country’s ability to act must not be restricted in any of those areas.
Another key demand is maintaining the buffer zones along Israel’s borders with Syria and Lebanon. The security establishment expects Israel to face significant pressure to withdraw from those areas but is insisting that they remain in place.
Officials also emphasized the need to preserve the IDF’s technological superiority, particularly amid the possibility of an F-35 sale to Turkey. The issue comes after President Trump said, “Nobody will tell me what to sell.”
Israel’s security establishment remains on very high alert amid concerns that negotiations between Washington and Tehran could collapse or simply lose momentum. Officials do not currently give the talks a particularly high chance of success and are preparing for the possibility of a rapid security escalation.
