HEZBOLLAH TUNNELS DESTROYED: IDF Uses 700 Tons Of Explosives Beneath Beaufort Ridge⁴

IDF troops destroyed a major Hezbollah underground tunnel network beneath the Beaufort Ridge in southern Lebanon, using approximately 700 tons of explosives during a limited operation in the Security Zone.

The multi-level network, built over two decades and funded by Iran, served as a central Hezbollah command center from which terrorists and commanders directed combat and attacks against IDF troops and Israeli civilians. It also served as a key command center for Hezbollah’s Bader Unit in southern Lebanon.

The tunnels were located approximately six kilometers from Metula and the Galilee Panhandle and formed a central part of Hezbollah’s planned invasion of communities in northern Israel. During the war, dozens of drones, explosive devices and anti-tank missiles were launched from the infrastructure.

Troops had maintained operational control of the tunnel network in recent weeks while preparing it for destruction. The operation was carried out under the direction of Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and Defense Minister Yisrael Katz following Hezbollah’s serious violation of the ceasefire agreement the previous day.

Netanyahu and Katz warned that Israel will not accept violations of the ceasefire and that any attempt by Hezbollah to harm IDF troops or Israeli civilians will be met with a severe response that exacts a heavy price from the terrorist organization.

The IDF will remain in the Security Zone in southern Lebanon and continue destroying Hezbollah infrastructure to prevent the terrorist group from rebuilding its capabilities.
