The Anti-Defamation League has launched a new initiative aimed at combating antisemitism inside college and university classrooms, including a confidential reporting channel for students and faculty who experience harassment or bias.

The initiative, titled “When Antisemitism Enters the Classroom,” comes alongside two ADL reports warning that antisemitism on American campuses has increasingly moved beyond public demonstrations and into classrooms, curricula and academic faculty networks.

According to ADL research, 1,694 antisemitic incidents were documented on college campuses in 2024, followed by 583 in 2025.

The reports cite what the organization describes as one-sided presentations of political issues at institutions including Stanford and Princeton, as well as the inclusion of reading materials from terrorist organizations such as the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine.

The ADL also says organized networks of faculty members and academic unions have provided institutional support to activists and promoted initiatives calling for boycotts of Israel.

ADL CEO Jonathan Greenblatt warned that antisemitism is increasingly entering classrooms while universities fail to adequately address incidents occurring behind closed doors.

The new confidential reporting mechanism is intended to address what the ADL says is a significant reporting gap, with many students choosing not to report such incidents directly to university authorities.

The initiative also provides toolkits and proposed policies for college and university administrators, including guidance on enforcing standards of conduct, protecting academic freedom while preventing discrimination, and addressing faculty members accused of promoting hatred or extreme political bias.
