US President Donald Trump told Fox News on Tuesday that the latest US strikes focused heavily on Iranian radar systems that Tehran has been working to rebuild after they were destroyed in earlier US and Israeli strikes.

Trump said that the US military has been closely monitoring Iran’s efforts to reconstruct the radar systems and waited until the work was almost completed before carrying out the strikes.

“They tried to rebuild their radar because they can’t see anything,” President Trump told Fox journalist Trey Yingst in a phone call. “We waited until it was almost built and then we hit it.”

“If Iran responds, they’ll be hit much harder,” Trump asserted. “If it goes a third time, they’re going to be totally wiped out as a country.”
