TRUMP DIVIDEND: President Promises $5,000 To Every U.S. Adult If Republicans Keep Congress [VIDEO]

President Trump announced that he wants to send a $5,000 payment to every adult American if Republicans retain control of both the House and Senate in November’s midterm elections, unveiling what he called the “Trump Dividend” during the Republican convention in Dallas, the Associated Press reported.

Trump told the crowd that the payments would be made possible by what he described as America’s tremendous economic strength, comparing the idea to a corporation distributing profits to shareholders.

Vice President JD Vance later suggested that wealthy Americans might not receive the payments and floated tariff revenues as a possible source of funding. However, the total price of the proposal would likely exceed $1 trillion.

Any such payment would require congressional approval. The United States is already running a federal budget deficit approaching $1.8 trillion annually, while the national debt recently passed $40 trillion.

Trump has proposed direct payments before, but this is the first time he has explicitly linked such a large nationwide payout to Republicans retaining control of Congress.

  1. First of all, this is a lie. He promised $2000 over a year ago because of tariffs, did anyone get a dime? What a humiliating embarrassment for a once great country, a president offering a bribe to the voting public.

  2. It sounds like Trump is turning socialist – giving out goodies without paying for them. One hopes the DINOs and RINOs will get together and stop the fiscally ridiculous policies of MAGA and the “Democratic Socialists”.

Unless Trump is using private donations (and his own money), what the government gives comes from either taxes or printing money. A pro-tax Republican (as Trump is, through his consumption taxes disguised as tariffs) until recently was an oxymoron. Printing money has been done often in the past (cf. Germany in the 1920s, Israel in the early 1980s, Zimbabwe back when it had its currency, etc.), and in fact “printing” money is already a leading source of funding the government.
