U.S. Congressman Tom Tiffany was forced to swim for his life after the engine of his small aircraft lost power during a flight over Wisconsin.

Tiffany, who is running for governor of Wisconsin, was returning from a political event when the aircraft was forced to make an emergency landing in the middle of a lake. Shortly after touching down, the plane began taking on water and sinking.

The congressman was able to escape the aircraft and swim to safety. Dramatic details of the incident were reported by B’Chadrei Chareidim.
