ANTISEMITIC ATTACK IN LONDON: Three Jewish Boys Assaulted on Bus

Three 14-year-old Jewish boys were assaulted and subjected to antisemitic abuse while traveling on a bus in north London last week, according to the Metropolitan Police.

The attack occurred near Sanders Lane in Mill Hill at approximately 8:15 a.m. on September 10, Erev Rosh Hashanah.

Officers from the Metropolitan Police’s newly established Community Protection Team interviewed the teenagers and recorded their accounts. Two of the boys reported being physically assaulted, while all three said they were subjected to antisemitic hate speech.

Police are reviewing surveillance footage and searching for the suspect, described as a white British man. Authorities have not disclosed the language used during the attack or the events immediately preceding it.

“The Met will not tolerate antisemitism in any form, and we will respond robustly to any and all offenses that occur,” Detective Chief Superintendent Luke Williams said. “Urgent inquiries are ongoing to trace and identify the suspect linked to this incident.”

The attack occurred as police increased patrols around Jewish neighborhoods ahead of the Yomim Tovim.

“Our Jewish communities have the right to celebrate and observe the upcoming Yomim Tovim without fear of antisemitic hate,” Williams said.

The Board of Deputies of British Jews condemned the attack, calling it “deeply disturbing” that three schoolboys were targeted because they are Jewish.

“No child should have to face antisemitic abuse or violence on their journey to school or anywhere else,” the organization said. “Jewish children must be able to go about their daily lives without fear of being targeted for who they are.”

The incident comes amid a sharp rise in antisemitic violence across Britain. In 2025, the country recorded 121 serious antisemitic assaults among a Jewish population of approximately 300,000.
