Fourteen Russian spy satellites flew over a US military base in Saudi Arabia two days before a major Iranian missile and drone attack on a U.S. air base in Saudi Arabia in March, CNN reported.

According to the report, the carefully coordinated timing and movement of the satellites allowed Iran to gather a wealth of data that U.S. officials and international intelligence sources say helped Tehran carry out some of its most precise strikes on US assets.

The attack injured 12 US soldiers and heavily damaged a key US surveillance aircraft and several US refueling planes.

Russia is not the only country aiding Iran to improve its strikes against US assets. The Wall Street Journal reported this week that Iran used high-resolution satellite imagery obtained from Chinese companies ahead of a missile attack on a US base in Jordan in July that killed three U.S. soldiers.
