CHASDEI HASHEM: Binyamin Ben Limor Freed From Iraq, Expected In Eretz Yisroel In Coming Days

In a remarkable conclusion to a years-long pidyon shvuyim effort, Binyamin ben Limor has been freed from imprisonment in Iraq and is expected to arrive in Eretz Yisroel in the coming days, YWN has learned.

The dramatic development comes after years of intensive efforts on his behalf. As YWN reported in November 2025, Binyamin’s death sentence was annulled following a major sulcha agreement and an international pidyon shvuyim campaign in which YWN readers helped raise significant funds.

Even after the death sentence was removed, Binyamin remained imprisoned as Askonim continued working behind the scenes to secure his complete release and arrange the next stage of his life.

Last week, YWN reported that renewed Tehillim and tefillos were being requested for Binyamin, as efforts intensified to finalize his release.

Those efforts have now, Baruch Hashem, resulted in his freedom.

Askonim have also worked out arrangements with Aish HaTorah in Yerushalayim, where Binyamin has been accepted into the Aish HaTorah Foundations Program and is expected to learn following his arrival in Eretz Yisroel.

In an acceptance letter, Aish HaTorah informed Binyamin that he had been accepted to the program and said the yeshiva looks forward to welcoming him to Yerushalayim.

With his release secured, a small campaign is now being organized to help Binyamin make the transition to Eretz Yisroel, including travel, enrollment, clothing, Tefillin, and other basic necessities as he begins rebuilding his life after years of imprisonment.
