PHOTOS: Over 1,500 People Attend Bonei Olaam Flatbush Dinner; A True Evening Of Kiddush Hashem

bod.jpgPHOTO LINK BELOW: The 2nd annual Bonei Olam Flatbush Dinner took place last night at the El Caribe ballroom in Flatbush.

What an uplifting evening it was!

The dais was filled with Roshei Yeshiva, Rabbanim and Askanim from throughout the community, and the crowd, filled the hall to capacity!

The many honorees, including the guest of honor, R’ Chaim Dovid Zweibel, executive Vice President of Agudath Israel of America, were all outstanding individuals who have earned the reputation of Oskim B’Tzorchei Tzibbur B’Emunah.

R’ Chaim Dovid gave an impassioned address explaining the importance and vital need to support Bonei Olam, Klal Yisroel’s Mosad!

The Keser Torah awardee, Rav Shlomo Noach Landau of Veretzky delivered a most powerful and impassioned speech detailing the pain of childlessness. He ended by addressing the founder of Bonei Olam,   and stating in the name of his Grandfather the Veretzky Rav Zatzal that after the Churban of Europe a disproportionate number of Gedolim in Eretz Yisroel and in America (including the Chazon Ish, The Belzer Rav, The Satmar Rav etc.) were not zoche to have children. The reason, said the Rav, may have been that the Ribono Shel Olam rescued these Gedolim for  a single mission: To rebuild Torah and Yiddishkeit in a new post war world! So too said Rav Sholom Noach, some people’s mission in this world is much larger and much more focused than their own families! Their mission is to build Klal Yisroel! This is a mission that the Ribono Shel Olam entrusts to special Neshamos!

“Es Achai Anochi Mevakesh!” those heart stopping words from this week’s Parsha were heard throughout the hall when Mordechai Ben David (MBD) and the Shira choir warmed the atmosphere with their Zemiros V’Shiros. We must do whatever we can for each and every one of our  brothers and sisters in need! Bonei Olam truly redefines the meaning of “Es Achai Anochi Mevakesh!”

MBD related a heartfelt story about the pain of childlessness and the selflessness that Bonei Olam exhibits to help each and every Yid in pain. The crowd was truly inspired by the singing, as R’ Mordechai did what he does best!

The final speech was delivered by R” Shloime Bochner, one of the founders and executive director of Bonei Olam. You could hear a pin drop as he  read excerpts from a letter of a pained mother who waited 14 years to have a child.

He implored the assembled to go beyond their normal means and join Bonei Olam in answering the call of each and every couple that came to Bonei Olam for help. Every child born is one step closer to Mashiach, as the Gemara says Mashiach cannot arrive until all the Neshamos that need to come down to this earth do so!

It was an emotionally charged evening and one that will be long remembered by all who participated.
