Children from the Hemato-Oncology Department at Hadassah Ein Kerem Hospital were flown to the United States for a two-week vacation by the “Chayeinu” (Our Lives), organization which accompanies the sick children in the hospitals. The girls go on vacation together with dozens of other girls from all over the country.

The girls, who are the main victims of the struggle are going through a particularly difficult period of uncertainty, as well as the future of the Jerusalem unit. The vacation permits them a break from these uncertainties and concerns and these children receive real support from the various cancer organizations operating to treat children in other hospitals. Organizers make certain they get the rest they require to permit them to heal sufficiently towards getting well.

One of the girls being treated stated a moment before getting onto the flight, “I hope than when we return to Israel we will be able to focus only on one war, for our lives, as we do not have the strength to fight on two fronts”.
