Inspectors Apprehend 4,500 Illegal Eggs On The Way To An Israeli Market


Ministry of Agriculture Inspectors in the Jerusalem/Beit Lechem area stopped a suspicious vehicle. During their inspection, they found 4,500 eggs with forged inspection stamps. They were being transported without refrigeration.

The driver, in his 30s, was trying to bring the eggs to the Jerusalem marketplace. The eggs were confiscated and destroyed. Criminal charges will be filed against the driver.

Since the beginning of 2017, inspectors apprehended and destroyed 235,830 illegal eggs, usually held and delivered in unacceptable conditions.
