Drama in Har Nof – High Speed Chase Takes Down Arab Thieves

On Thursday afternoon, local community police in the Har Nof neighborhood of Jerusalem noticed a car that was traveling suspiciously fast. When the police asked the driver of the car to pull over, the car sped up and began to endanger the lives of other drivers and pedestrians. As the police began to give chase, a bag was thrown out of the window of the speeding car.

A short time later the car came to a stop and the driver, as well as one other passenger, attempted to escape the area on foot. They were apprehended by other police officers who had set up a roadblock to prevent the car from getting out of the area.

Officers searched for and found the bag that was thrown from the vehicle during the chase. It carried tools used for criminal activity centered around breaking and entering.

The suspects who were apprehended are Muslim residents of Judea and east Jerusalem. They were brought to the Moriah police station for questioning. During the investigation, it was discovered that the pair of suspected criminals had attempted to break into an apartment near where the chase began and when they saw the local police officers coming they decided to run instead. Additionally, the car that they were traveling in had non-matching plates.

A police spokesperson said that the suspects were apprehended by local officers and that the police force is always at the ready to protect the peace, security, and belongings of law-abiding citizens.
