Rav Moshe Buchbut Becomes The New Chief Rabbi Of Tiveria


After months of machlokes, including postponement of the elections, petitions to the High Court of Justice and protests, HaGaon HaRav Moshe Buchbut Shlita was on Monday, 2 Kislev, elected to serve as the new Chief Rabbi of Tiveria.

The 16 members of the voting body arrived at the hall in the Edan Hotel in the city to vote. Ten voted for Rav Buchbut while six voted for HaGaon HaRav Yitzchak Yosef Shalush Shlita.

Rav Buchbut was supported by the head of Shas’ Moetzas Gedolei Yisrael HaGaon HaRav Shalom Cohen Shlita.
