Former Israeli Minister Of Tourism Begins Serving His Prison Term

Former Minister of Tourism (Yisrael Beitenu) Stav Mishenikov entered prison on Tuesday, 3 Kislev, to begin serving his 15-month term following his conviction on fraud and other white-collar charges. He was one of a number of Yisrael Beitenu party members under investigation, with some legal proceedings still ongoing, including that against former Deputy Minister of the Interior Fania Kirschenbaum.

The former tourism minister was also given a six-month probationary term, which means a repeat offense will automatically result in six months imprisonment. He was also fined 70,000 NIS. When entering prison, he expressed remorse for his actions.
