35-Year-Old Man Rescued After Drowning In Eilat

A 35-year-old man was pulled from the Red Sea after he drowned by Herod’s Beach at the north side of Eilat’s bay. United Hatzalah volunteers and Magen David Adom ambulance teams responded to the emergency and treated the man at the scene performing CPR  and succeeding in bringing back the man’s pulse.

EMS teams then transported the man to the hospital while he was sedated and intubated.

MDA paramedic Nir Yifat said: “When we arrived at the scene we sw the man lying at the water’s edge. He was unconscious, he was not breathing and had no pulse. We began CPR and were told that the man had entered the water near the dock. After a few minutes passersby saw the man floating on the water and pulled him out.”

United Hatzalah volunteer EMT Robert Ehrlich, who works nearby, was one of the first responders at the scene and said: “We performed CPR on the man and thankfully we were successful. The man was transported to Yoseftal hospital and is listed as being in serious but stable condition.”
