Netanyahu Hosts French President Emmanuel Macron For Breakfast

Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu and his wife Sara hosted French President Emmanuel Macron and other French officials for breakfast at the Prime Minister’s residence in Jerusalem on Wednesday morning.

During their meeting, Netanyahu urged Macron to impose sanctions on Iran and discussed establishing a strategic dialogue between Israel and France on shared interests.

Macron, who is in Israel for the World Holocaust Forum, is also meeting with Palestinian Authority chairman Mahmoud Abbas in Ramallah on Wednesday and will attend a gathering of 40 world leaders with President Reuven Rivlin on Wednesday evening.

Israeli Foreign Ministry officials disapproved of Macron’s decision to meet with Abbas. “We didn’t think it was a good idea to visit Ramallah,” a Foreign Ministry official told Israel Hayom. “We told the French delegation we weren’t happy about it, but it was [Macron’s] decision.”

  1. Bibi got dressed in the dark this morning. That suit and tie combo is sure to put Mr Paris off his breakfast. Really on one of the most important days of the diplomatic calendar, get dressed properly. Bibi, if you’re reading this, send someone to Geula to get you a tie that goes with a creased black suit.
