IDF Engineering Corps. Come Under Attack From Gaza Terrorists For Second Time In One Day

Just two hours after a shooting incident took place along the Gaza-Israel border, in which IDF soldiers were fired upon by terrorists from inside Gaza, a second incident took place. Both shooting attacks were aimed at engineering operations that were being conducted near the border. Bullets struck numerous IDF engineering vehicles, but no damage or injuries were reported.

An IDF spokesperson said that in response, IDF tanks fired at outposts inside Gaza along the border in the region of the shots fired.  “A short time ago, shots were fired at IDF engineering vehicles and soldiers on the Western side of the southern portion of the Gaza-Israel fence.”

Earlier in the day, Palestinian terrorists from Gaza opened fire on IDF soldiers who were working near the border close to the town of Kisufim. At least one bullet struck an IDF bulldozer but it did not penetrate the bulletproof glass that protected the driver of the vehicle and no injuries were reported. Palestinian media stations reported that IDF tanks responded to the attack by firing upon Hamas outposts near the location from where the shooting emanated.

The IDF has called upon farmers to distance themselves from working near the border for the time being.
