Eichler Explains the Shlichus of the Admorim Travelling To The United States

gurMK (Yahadut Hatorah) Rav Yisrael Eichler details the purpose of the admorim of the Moetzas Gedolei Yisrael deciding to travel to the United States. Eichler explains the rabbonim hope to enlist widespread public support towards applying pressure on the Government of Israel. They hope that the pressure will compel a change in policy, namely backing down from plans to draft bnei yeshivos.

Eichler explains the rabbonim will cry out and their voices will be heard, to halt the planned draft into the military of bnei yeshivos. He feels the “secular government has declared war on the chareidi tzibur” citing the administration’s policy of blocking chareidi housing projects. He cites other recent decisions such as introducing new prerequisites for certain jobs, such as an academic degree, which he feels is a backdoor way of keeping out chareidim. Eichler rejects tenacious government efforts to influence chareidi education and the ongoing effort to strip chareidi youths of their way of life by compelling them to serve in the military.

“Bibi doesn’t care what they say about him in Israel for he lives by the American media and his friends and supporters in the US. The Orthodox community in American supports him, and when they begin pressuring him, perhaps he will understand. If the government continues with its gezeiros, international human rights organizations will demand an investigation over the discriminatory policies and question how in a prospering nation over 800,000 children are living in poverty” he concluded.

  1. How will they explain their party’s support for a war against the Arabs (unlike Satmar, which is pro-peace), while arguing that their sons should be exempt. Agudah was a pivotal player in the decision to go to war in 1948 (the alternative would have probably led to Israel being an American colony similar to Puerto Rico), and supports the medinah to this very day. Americans of all ideologies don’t approve of “chicken hawks” – those who support wars but don’t want to risk their lives in doing so.

A frummer analogy is to kashrus mashgiach who won’t eat the food he gives a hecksher to. Satmar says the medinah is treff and won’t touch it -that’s consistency. Agudah says it is kosher, but no so kosher they’ll let it into their kitchen.

  2. perhaps if these people worked and not walk around with shopping bags all day in geula and on ave j, 13th ave
then come collecting for the 8th child that they are marrying off that they are in shvere matzav
perhaps the poverty level would change
I know there are many that work
but far too many are doing nothing
and coming to America (business class ) schnorring

  3. I don’t think Eichler will find much support from the American public in general or the jewish community in particular for the Chareidi position that there should be a 100 percent exemption from national service for anyone registered in a yeshiva and learning. The American public will recall that when our country faced threats to our national security, even that tiny percentage who claimed conscientous objector status for an exemption from combat still found other ways to serve in hospitals, etc. The Charedei position is that NO alternative service options are acceptable. That will not resonate with either the American public in general or jews in particular. This demonstratino will do more damage to the reputation of EY and cause more anti-semitism than he can imagine.

They felt they had little choice.
Agudah’s anti zionist leader Reb Moshe Blau (was threatened and then) mysteriously died of poisoning in 1946.
But the Gerrers & Co.,maybe, have finally woken up.

They hopefully will admit the havoc they have wrought

Americans do have company offices and professions. But their hearts are intertwined with their brethren ,whose lifestyle gives them the Chizuk they need to succeed

“This demonstratino will do more damage to the reputation of EY and cause more anti-semitism than he can imagine.”

    Tell that to the Marines.
    Figure out something new.

Your kind has always played that one, which even the goyim recognize for the farce that it always has been

(your demonstrations and parades for Israel DO CAUSE anti-semitism ,as any poll shows, yet you do it anyway)

So many charedim are getting jobs and training these days that the Era of shnorring is almost over.
In 2020, we will look back nostalgically wondering what happened ,the way way we miss all the holocaust survivors and partisans of my youth.

  6. “widespread public support towards applying pressure on the Government of Israel”

Firstly, is this Eichler’s POV or the Gedolim that are traveling here? Secondly, who is the public support they plan to awaken? (will be the pro-Arabs, Anti-Semitic groups and some Charedi kehillos). Thirdly, Rav Steinman shlit”a only agreed to a gathering that does NOT include ANTI-ISRAEL speeches.

  7. Don’t expect to see me at this useless rally. I rather take the opportunity to receive a personal brocha from the Belzer Rebbe shlita.

not sure what you are talking about
come to my shule every morning as busloads of collectors come
    every night at your door
    who pays for the tickets
why aren’t these young healthy people working

why do I have to kill myself to work and these guys are prancing arounf

  9. “If the government continues with its gezeiros, international human rights organizations will demand an investigation over the discriminatory policies and question how in a prospering nation over 800,000 children are living in poverty”

Is this guy for real? Is this a joke or is he really delusional? Human Rights violations? If an investigation into the causes of poverty were ever to be held it would almost certainly conclude that many of those children are in poverty because their parents are told by people like Eichler that going to work is equivalent to shmad.
