PHOTOS & VIDEOS: Patient Severely Burned in Flatbush Fire, Transported by Hatzolah

A person is in critical condition in Flatbush after being pulled from a burning apartment building.

The blaze broke out at 1256 East 13th Street just off of Avenue M at around 10:45am Monday morning.

The FDNY was able to bring the fire under control in around 30 minutes after pulling a 60-year-old male victim from the burning building.

Flatbush Hatzolah transported the victim in critical condition – suffering from serious burns and smoke inhalation. He was taken to the burn unit at Staten Island University Hospital.

The cause of the fire is not yet known.

  1. I’m surprised that there were firemen available, since most of these government employees & union job, very scrupulously observe Dr. Martin Luther King day

  2. 147 Your comment belies your ignorance of how union contracts are applied. Public employees working on legal holidays get paid either double time or time and one half depending on how their collective bargaining agreements are worded.
