HATE IN NYC: Unknown Man Damages Staten Island Shul in Shabbos Morning Crime


The NYPD is asking for the public’s assistance in identifying an individual who vandalized the Toras Emes shul in Staten Island in the wee hours of Shabbos morning.

Surveillance footage of the incident shows a white Honda SUV stop in front of the shul on Highland Boulevard shortly after midnight when an individual getting out of the rear passenger seat and runs through vinyl fencing surrounding the shul, causing major damage to it.

The individual then went back into the vehicle, which fled proceeded to flee southbound on Highland. The NYPD’s Hate Crimes Task Force is now investigation.

The individual who damaged the fence is described as a male with a thin build last seen wearing a yellow hooded sweatshirt and black pants. The unknown operator of the vehicle was wearing a red shirt, while the unknown front seat passenger was wearing a white shirt.
