Couple Arrested At Ben-Gurion For Abandoning Baby Rather Than Pay For Ticket

A couple about to fly to Brussels via Ryanair on Tuesday was arrested instead after they allegedly abandoned their baby at the airport.

The couple was apparently unaware that they were required to purchase a ticket for their baby and when they were informed of the fact, they began arguing with the airport staff. At a certain point, the couple then allegedly left their baby behind in the stroller and proceeded to walk to passport control.

According to Channel 12 New report, flight attendants noticed the baby and quickly called the airport police. The police ran to locate the parents and detained them.

The couple was taken for questioning together with their baby.

The manager of Ryanair at Ben-Gurion said: “All the employees today are in shock. We’ve never encountered anything like this. We couldn’t believe what we were seeing.”

  1. My guess in their stupidity they devised a “plan” to leave the baby at the counter and someone will see and bring the baby to them after security, thus avoiding buying the ticket. Not thought out at all and complete neglect

  2. there goes YWN not fact checking stories
this was a hit piece of news that has since been identified as false, and confirmed as such by the police
check bhol if you don’t believe me
I wish I was hired as editor for YWN

  3. How about letting them go through with the abandonment permanently, and having social services take charge of this baby & find a childless couple who would be more than exuberant to adopt & raise this baby

  4. By the time they were made aware of the charge for the baby the Ryanair ticket counter was closed. It’s probable that they were looking for a way to board with the baby. The baby was left for a short time, not abandoned. Logically one parent should have stayed withe the baby while the other looked for assistance with their issue.

  5. I’m sure that 90% of traveling parents have likely had similar illicit thoughts at some point, especially when making connections after coming off a long flight, but most generally do not act on their impulses.

  6. I always knew that YWN did not exactly have the highest level of journalism. But to post a story without verifying sources is a violation of the ABC’s of journalism. Shame on you YWN!
