World’s Smallest Torah Scroll Up for Auction

061_406A contemporary, miniature Sefer Torah is the highlight of Kestenbaum & Company’s Fine Judaica auction to be held on Wednesday, March 12th at 3:00 pm. The Torah Scroll, traditionally handwritten on vellum is just 2 inches high and is purported to be the smallest ever written. Fitted with silver Eitz-Chaim rollers, the Scroll resides in a custom made, elaborately decorated silver ark / bimah with a large magnification glass for ease of reading the Scroll. Estimated at $100,000-150,000, this one-of-a-kind object of Judaica is certified identification and documentation, noting that the Torah is fully Kosher for use.

The remainder of the more than 470 lot auction will feature an extensive selection of Printed Books, Manuscripts, Autograph Letters, Ceremonial Objects and Graphic Art. The viewing for the auction will be held in the Kestenbaum & Company gallery at 242 West 30th Street in New York City from Sunday, March 9th through Tuesday, March 11th.
