Due to rocket fire in the area of the commercial crossing, Israel has closed the Kerem Shalom Crossing between S. Israel and Gaza. Rockets were fired in the area of Gaza border communities on motzei Shabbos. The situation was quiet after midnight and rocket fire resumed early Sunday morning.
The closure of the crossing brings an abrupt halt to the transfer of food and supplies to Gaza.
