Case Closed Against Former Jerusalem Mayoral Candidate Moshe Leon


Leon and Rav ShteinmanJerusalem Councilman Moshe Leon, who ran in the last mayoral election against Mayor Nir Barkat, has been cleared of alleged wrongdoing in the “Yisrael Beitenu case. The case was closed as a result of a lack of evidence against Leon.

Leon was arrested and questioned in the ongoing investigation into alleged high-level government corruption involving a number of Yisrael Beitenu party officials including a deputy minister and a former cabinet minister. Leon was released from custody following questioning, placed under house arrest.

Leon reportedly cooperated with police investigators and the case against him has been closed.
