Initiative To Launch A Women’s Hatzalah In Modi’in Illit Receives Rav Kanievsky’s Backing

1There is an initiative in Modi’in Illit to launch a Women’s Hatzalah in the chareidi city. according to persons involved, the initiative has received a bracha from HaGaon HaRav Chaim Kanievsky Shlita.

The goal is to certify women as EMTs to respond to calls for childbirth and other women’s issues. This the organizers explain can only serve to enhance the level of tznius on such calls for all involved as it would be done without any male involvement.

The initiative was presented to Rebitzen Kodolsky, Maran Rav Chaim’s daughter, and she has given her backing.

In her letter of support, she explains this initiative is a “big tikun in the realm of tznius of the holy bnos Yisrael…” Rebitzen Kodolsky explains that today, due to the lack of an alternative, men are summoned to such calls but if women were trained and available, the men would be excluded and the calls would be handled quietly and in total modesty.

She adds ‘it is a big mitzvah to assist this organization”, adding “I presented this to my father, שר התורה, and he accepted the idea warmly, giving his bracha for continued hatzlacha”.

“My father was very moved by the ide and gave a bracha to anyone taking party, adding ‘Bracha V’hatzlacha V’tizku l’mitzvos’”.

  1. Great idea. They should have them all over the world. Woman hatzallah are extremely important. Many women womt call hatzallah for themselves because of thr fact that men will turn up and it’s very embarrassing.
