Gaza Resident With Hamas Ties, Indicted

Ahmed Magdi Muhamad Abid, born in 1994, was a resident of Shujaiya in Gaza and a member of Hamas. He was arrested at the end of September 2017 while crossing the border into Israeli territory.

His Shin Bet and police interrogation found that Ahmed Abid was recruited to the Hamas organization in 2013. During his activity in Hamas he underwent a military training in engineering, sniping and anti-tank weapons. It was further revealed that he took part in digging tunnels near where he lived and as an activist for Hamas’s border guards.

Excessive information about the Hamas’s tunnel structure in Gaza was received during his interrogation- for both tunnels designed for attacking purposes against Israel, and tunnels meant for fighting IDF forces inside Gaza.

Ahmed Abid’s interrogation unveiled once again Hamas’s terror tunnel activity designed to promote terrorism against the state of Israel.

On October 23, 2017 a severe indictment was filed at the Beersheva District Court attributing severe security offenses to Abid.
