Is The Rock-Throwing Intifada Renewing Itself In Jerusalem?


Three Egged buses traveling on Uzi Narkiss Blvd. in northern Jerusalem were bombarded with rocks in past days. In two of the attacks, the drivers sustained light injuries.

The first attack occurred on motzei Shabbos Parshas Shemos, when Arabs hurled stones at the bus, smashing a window and permitting a rock to penetrate the bus. B’chasdei Hashem, there were no injuries.

Police reported two suspects were taken into custody, 17 and 18-year-old, from Shuafat and Anata. Border police found them as the scene and in possession of a knife and slingshot. Police reported they also had rocks in hand upon their arrival.

On Tuesday evening, once again a bus is rocked on the Uzi Narkiss Bridge and in this case, the driver sustained light injuries. He was transported to a local hospital.

On Wednesday, there was a third attack, at the same location, and once again, a driver was lightly wounded.

The Uzi Narkiss Bridge connects Pisgat Ze’ev and N’vei Yaakov in the northern capital, and on the one side of the road there is Pisgat Ze’ev and the other borders Beit Haninah and Shuafat.
