WATCH: Republicans Cheer Trump On Jerusalem, Cutting Funding For ‘Enemies’; Democrats Remain Silent

(VIDEO IN EXTENDED ARTICLE)

Democrats on Tuesday night took their ‘resistance’ to President Donald Trump to new lengths, with many refusing to even applaud or stand during his State of the Union address to acknowledge economic gains or an honoring of veterans, messages that would appear to have universal approval.

Their animosity was on display as well when Trump mentioned his historic decision to recognize Jerusalem as the capital of Israel.

As Republicans began applauding Trump, the cameras zoomed in on Ivanka Trump and Jared Kushner, his daughter and son-in-law who both serve as presidential advisers and who were reportedly influential in the decison-making process.

The cameras then spanned the room, showing the Republican side of the chamber standing and applauding in unison, while the Democrats remained seated silently.

Trump then made an appeal to Congress to cut funding for countries who disagree with American decisions on foreign policy. “I am asking the Congress to pass legislation to help ensure American foreign-assistance dollars always serve American interests, and only go to friends of America, not enemies of America,” said Trump.

Once again, the cameras showed Republicans rising to cheer and show their approval, while Democrats resigned to ‘sit on their hands.’

“Democrats are no longer just the party of resistance and obstruction, they are now also the party of sitting on their hands,” said the Republican National Committee on Tuesday night. “No matter the issue, Democrats chose to sit on their hands tonight.”

Democrats during the address chose not to stand when Trump honored Louisiana Republican Rep. Steve Scalise and praised his resolve for returning to work less than four months after he “took a bullet” from a gunman and “almost died.”

And they chose not join in the applause for a 12-year-old boy in the gallery whom Trump praised for putting flags on soldiers’ graves on Veterans Day.

Democrats did however show few public displays of disapproval, perhaps sticking to reported instructions from House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi who advised them not to distract from Trump being his “slobbering self.”

The biggest groans from Democrats came during Trump’s vow to end a policy that allows immigrants to bring extended family into the country. That came over the displeasure of Pelosi, who flung out her arms to signal members of her caucus to stop.

  1. This is no surprise. Democrats have stopped being friends of the Jewish people, the land of Israel, or of any Jewish values for half of a generation. Just long enough to help elect a president who would show us how much Democrats hate jews. Go back and watch the last few Democrat conventions when they cannot say “G-d”, or show any kavod to the flag.

    Commies dressed as “Democrats”.

  2. It shows how democrats don’t care for the country it’s all about THEIR AGENDA that’s it. The earth shattering changes that Trump boosted the economy is staggering!!! So you don’t like the guy! Would you not vouch for someone that you don’t like but happened to rebuild your family?? Maybe not if you didn’t care for your family!!
