Maran HaGaon HaRav Baruch Dov Povarsky Shlita arrived on Tuesday, 18 Nissan to the Kosel as is his minhag annually during Chol Hamoed Pesach. Prior to heading to Yerushalayim, the rav expressed a desire to visit his mechutin, HaGaon HaRav Meshulam David Halevy Solovechik Shlita, Rosh Yeshivas Brisk.

Upon hearing of the imminent visit, Rav Solovechik remained at home to greet his guest. The visit took place prior to Rav Povarsky visiting the Kosel. Rav Solovechik called his grandson to join him, explaining “It is not everyday that we merit such Kovod Hatorah”.

The two discussed divrei Torah for close to a half hour after which Rav Povarsky traveled to the Kosel with a police escort. Many talmidim waited for him to arrive at the Kosel including HaGaon HaRav Avigdor Nebenzahl Shlita, Rav of the Old City. Rav Povarsky left following mincha and returned to Bnei Brak.
