The light rail will drive free to the memorial ceremonies on Mount Herzl and on Independence Day, trains will run throughout the night

In preparation for the main memorial ceremonies held at Mount Herzl on Memorial Day for the fallen of Israel and the victims of hostilities, CityPass will place a stand for the distribution of tickets for free travel to those who attend the ceremonies. The post will be placed on the morning of Memorial Day at the light rail station at the central bus station between the hours of 8:00AM to 1:00PM.

In addition, CityPass Light Rail adapted the railway schedule on Memorial Day and Independence Day to meet the demand for train travel at various times.

• On the Memorial Day, a reinforced train service will be launched in the direction of Mount Herzl for the ceremony and return travel.

• During Independence Day, CityPass will operate the light rail throughout the night. According to the Police directive and the celebrations in the city center, the train will operate between 10:00PM and 3:00AM on two routes that will lead to the city center: between the Mount Herzl and Machane Yehuda stations and the Cheil Avir (Pisgat Ze’ev) and City Hall stations.

Yaron Ravid, CEO of CityPass Light Rail: “As every year, CityPass mobilized to assist the bereaved families who come to the graves of their loved ones on Mount Herzl and grant them, with great respect and respect, free travel tickets for memorial ceremonies and rehearsals.” Ravid said: “This is a significant service to the public celebrating in the city center and in neighborhoods along the line that will be able to reach various performances and return home safely and comfortably. CityPass is attentive to its passengers and is familiar with what is happening in the city. We are constantly working to provide good and efficient service to all passengers and the public in Jerusalem.”
