WATCH: Egypt Warned Hamas To Tone Down Gaza Riots; Has Video Of Terrorists Being Paid, Warns ‘Blood Is On Their Hands’

Deadly protests at the Israel-Gaza border have waned over the past three days because Egypt has pressured Hamas to stop stoking the violent demonstrations, Fox News reported.

The news comes as a senior Hamas official admitted that 50 of the rioters killed Monday by Israeli soldiers in the Gaza Strip were members of the Islamist militant group.

Fox News reports: “The Egyptians reportedly showed Hamas leaders a video that revealed Hamas members paying off civilians if they agreed to approach the border fence despite Israeli warnings that there would be deadly consequences.”

The report adds that Hamas leaders were warned that Egypt considers the blood of Palestinians killed in Gaza “on their hands.”

Egypt has acted as a political broker between Israel and Hamas, and has worked with both to fight ISIS.

YWN reported Monday that Hamas chief Ismail Haniyeh and other top Hamas leaders traveled to Egypt where they received stern warnings not to instigate the protests.

“Haniyeh returned to Gaza, Hamas gave an order … and miraculously, this spontaneous protest by a public that could not handle the situation any more dissipated,”  Israeli Intelligence Minister Yisrael Katz told the media.

Hamas denied the claim, although Hamas leader Yehya Sinwar told Al Jazeera television that Egypt had expressed interest in improving the conditions in Gaza and avoiding further bloodshed on the border.
