HORRIFIC TRAGEDY IN BEITAR: Two Children R”L Killed In Fire [VIDEO & PHOTOS]

A horrific tragedy is unfolding in Beitar on Tuesday night, as word spread about a fire that claimed the lives of two children.

According to initial information provided to YWN, the fire broke out around 10:00PM in a building on Knesses Mordechai Street.

The fire department was able to rescue 3 children, but tragically, two children were pulled out in cardiac arrest. Both were Niftar at the hospital. One is 5-years-old, and one is 6 months old.

According to a report by Bichadrei Chareidim, both parents were in Yerushalayim at the time of the fire. The children were being watched by an older child at home. According to initial reports, it appears a lightbulb somehow exploded and started a fire. The older children ran to a neighbor and were unable to rescue the two sleeping children who were later Niftar.

United Hatzalah and Magen David Adom Paramedics were on the scene treating additional victims for smoke inhalation. Zaka is at the scene.

The children are great-grandchildren of the famed Ponavezh Mashgiach, Hagaon HaRav Yechezkel Levinstein. Their grandfather is HaRav Shlomo Ginzberg, a Ram in Yeshivas Harei Yehuda in Bein Meir. The parents are Reb Yehoshua Ginzberg, an Avreich in Yeshivas Beis Yitzchak and the mother is Mrs Devorah, daughter of Rav Nosson Dovid Shapira.

A fund has been established to assist the family in their time of need.

  1. why do people have to stand around and watch? why can’t they take a tehillim and daven everyone should get out okay!!!!!!

  2. Takes2-2tango: WHY MUST U COMMENT THAT THIS FIRE SMELLS FISHY? THE ONLY THING THAT THIS FIRE SMELLED OF IS FIRE!! A FIRE THAT R’L TOOK THE LIVES OF 2 YIDDISHE NESHOMOS, INNOCENT LITTLE CHILDREN. DO YOU KNOW WHY LITTLE CHILDREN DIE? NOT BECAUSE THEY DESERVE TO DIE, AND NOT BECAUSE THEIR PARENTS NEED TO BE PUNISHED, BUT SO WE, ME AND YOU AND EVERYONE ELSE IN OUR GENERATION CAN HAVE A KAPARRAH! BUT NO, ITS MUCH EASIER FOR US TO SAY THAT SOMETHING SMELLS FISHY AND WE CAN FIND A REASON WHY IT HAPPENED SO THAT WE CAN ASSURE OURSELVES THAT THIS TRAGEDY WILL NEVER HAPPEN TO US…. DON’T GET ME WRONG, I’M NOT SAYING THAT WE SHOULDN’T DO HISHTADLUS AND MAKE SURE WE ARE SAFE AT ALL TIMES, WE MOST DEFINITELY SHOULD, HOWEVER THE REST IS UP TO HASHEM…. MAY THESE 2 CHILDREN BE THE LAST KAPPAROHS THAT OUR GENERATION NEEDS!

  3. Although I don’t think it would have made any difference in this tragic case but generally speaking Yidden in E”Y should install smoke detectors like it’s common in the UK.
This would have saved countless lives in the past!

  4. the Israelis are good at many things fighting fires is NOT one of them look at the pics there are maybe 2 trucks there in ny in 3 min you have 5 trucks not that it would make a diff. also e”y has a plus that most homes are made out of stone so much less flammable tehei nishmasam bezror hachaim …..

  5. DavidtheKanoi, agreed 100%. Also, recommended to have homeowners insurance/ renters insurance. It’s a shame that Reb Yehoshua Ginzberg seemingly didn’t provide such assurance for his family. R’L one can sadly never bring back loss of human life, but guarantees against theft, fire, property loss, the inevitable (as well as insurance coverage for the hotels and meals) can be put in place. The family suffered greatly (they should only find comfort), and unfortunately not prepared for the ‘material’ loss in life.
