Israeli Court Awards Chareidi Terror Victim NIS 60,000 In Civil Suit

A terrorist who stabbed a young chareidi man who was on his way to the Kosel Shavuos night about three and a half years ago, will be forced to pay him compensation in the amount of 60,000 NIS. Attorney Menashe Yado of the Honenu organization, who represented the plaintiff said, “not to be frightened, but to get rid of the terrorists as must as possible.”

A young chareidi man who was stabbed in the back by a terrorist in the Old City of Jerusalem three years ago sued the terrorist in a personal suit and won, and the terrorist will have to compensate him for NIS 60,000.

The attack occurred about 3.5 years ago, when the then 16-year-old chareidi teen was walking with a friend from the so-called Muslim Quarter in the Old City towards the Kosel on Shavuos night. At 2:30AM, the attacker chased after him with a knife in hand, a knife with a 30cm blade which he purchased earlier. The terrorist stabbed the young man in his back, as well as injuring others. They were transported to a hospital for treatment.

The terrorist was not charged with attempted murder, but was convicted of causing serious bodily harm, and was sentenced to nine years in prison. As a result, the young man decided to personally sue the terrorist, and in the framework of an arrangement with the terrorist, he received compensation in the amount of 60,000 NIS.
